To make Tamil Nadu the State with the safest roads in India, by reducing and preventing road accidents, fatalities and serious injuries through a coordinated approach involving education, engineering, enforcement, emergency response and citizen participation.
Our Mission
To complement the efforts of the State Police, the Transport Department, the Highways Department, educational institutions, industry and civil society, and thereby contribute to a holistic approach towards road safety.
Objectives
1. Road Safety Education through public campaigns using digital and social media
2. Dedicated seminars and meetings to raise awareness at multiple levels about the growing menace of Road Accidents and fatalities - leading to economic devastation of young surviving families
3. Setting up driving school to inculcate road safety knowledge, courtesy to other road users and making our drivers responsible and skilled to drive anywhere in the world
4. Working with Department of Transport towards upgradation of driving test / licensing process based on the SOPs of successful models in developed countries to ensure that new licensees meet the required driving skills and knowledge of road safety requirement to reduce the number of accidents
5. Working with Government authorities to improve the road signages, hazard signals, enforcement of speed limit
6. Monitoring the effectiveness of new safety measures and using the data to help Government agencies to replicate the same in major cities and more so in accident-prone areas
